Col. Larry Shaw, 434th Air Refueling Wing commander, hosted a commander's call during the unit training assembly, May 4, 2019.

During the all-call, Shaw stressed the importance of teamwork and readiness during what’s expected to be a busy summer for Grissom.

Shaw reiterated Grissom’s mission and vision in regards to its upcoming inspections and exercises.

”It takes every single one of us, every squadron, to keep those air planes in the air,” said Shaw. “I’m asking that we all come together from here on out and do teamwork.”

In addition to an operational security briefing, attendees also received a summer safety briefing and a briefing from the Inspector General inspections staff.

The 2019 Grissom Air and Space Expo and 2019 October Fall Bash were also emphasized.

The 434th ARW is the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command. The Citizen Airmen from the Hoosier Wing routinely deploy around the world in support of the Air Force mission.
