    The 434th Air Refueling Wing Finance Management office launched a new comptroller services portal. Grissom is one of three Air Force Reserve Command test bases going live with the new Air Force CSP on September 9th.
  • Overcoming Obstacles: 434th OSS wins Airfield Operations Awards

    Improvise, adapt and overcome may be a quotable line from a Clint Eastwood movie, but air traffic controllers at Grissom did just that on their way to nearly sweeping annual awards. The 434th Operations Support Squadron won Airfield Operations awards in 7 out of 8 categories based on their outstanding performances in duties that soar above what is required.

    As a young child, Eva Chupp’s Amish upbringing was a world away from the high-tech business of the United States Air Force. Though unconventional, now Senior Airmen Chupp’s journey from her community in Michigan, to the boom pod of the KC-135R Stratotanker is taking flight.

  • Grissom holds Firecracker 5K

    Runners at Grissom take off at the start of the Firecracker 5K held here June 30, 2021. Grissom holds monthly 5K runs to promote fitness and camaraderie.The next run is the Dog Days of Summer 5K and is scheduled for July 28.
  • Grissom unit supports overseas contingency training

    The Hoosier Wing’s main mission is providing air refueling and combat ready Airmen, but for the first time in over 5 years, members of Air Force Reserve Command’s Contingency Equipment Management Facility supported an overseas mission. A C-17 from Dover Air Force Base, Del., came to Grissom June 1 to pick up civil engineering cargo palletized by Grissom’s CEMF, destined for the pacific. The AFRC CEMF is a geographically separated operating location which falls under Detachment 1, 622nd Contingency Equipment Group, Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Georgia.
  • Grissom flexes muscles during readiness exercise

    Airmen were challenged to demonstrate the 434 Air Refueling Wing’s ability to generate and employ real-world U.S. Strategic Command requirements during an exercise here June 1-6.
