Grissom hosts National Police Week education day Published May 14, 2010 GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind., -- For most middle and high school students, the average school day doesn't involve body armor, bomb-squad water cannons or X-ray equipment, but for one group of local scholars, this rarity became reality. Grissom hosted a National Police Week education day earlier this month that featured the 434th Security Forces Squadron; a local police-dog training facility; and federal, state and local police agencies. Students were witness to demonstrations from special operations teams and police dogs. They also got the chance to get a close-up view of military equipment including security forces vehicles, night vision goggles and a KC-135R Stratotanker. The event was held as part of National Police Week, which takes place every year in May.
