  • Grissom hosts ESGR boss lift

    For some reservists asking for time off from civilian jobs can be a daunting task, but a collaboration between the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, Grissom, Fort Wayne and Terre Haute units is designed to make that task easier to do. The 434th Air Refueling Wing, 122nd Fighter Wing, and 181st Intelligence Wing partnered with the Indiana ESGR on Aug. 27, 2021 to show Hoosier employers what their Reservist or Guardsman does when not working with them.
  • Air Force Reserve demonstrates strategic depth of combat airlift on Wyoming highway during training exercise

    Air Force Reserve Command kicked off a week-long exercise, Rally in the Rockies 2021, by landing a C-130J Super Hercules aircraft on the highway near Rawlins, Wyoming, Sept. 13. The highway closed early in the morning to ensure the aircrew could safely practice recovering personnel without access to a runway within simulated enemy territory.
  • The cost of freedom rings silent

    Silence blanketed Grissom today as the body of Marine Cpl. Humberto Sanchez was flown into Grissom for a dignified transfer to an awaiting hearse to carry him home to Logansport, Indiana.
  • Grissom holds 20th Anniversary ceremony remembering 9/11

    Many Americans remember where they were when the events of Sept. 11 transpired twenty years ago. They remember what they felt watching history unfold that day.The Hoosier Wing held a 20th anniversary remembrance ceremony at the base flag pole.The ceremony honored the 343 New York City firefighters and paramedics, 23 New York City police officers
  • Dignified transfer taking place Sunday

    The body of Corporal Sanchez will arrive at Grissom at approximately 10:30 a.m. Sept. 12, 2021. Sanchez was one of 13 military service members killed in Afghanistan on Aug. 26.
  • Financial Management launches new comptroller service portal

    The 434th Air Refueling Wing Finance Management office launched a new comptroller services portal. Grissom is one of three Air Force Reserve Command test bases going live with the new Air Force CSP on September 9th.
