Public gets say during KC-46A impact hearing
Although Grissom was not selected as the primary basing location for the KC-46A Pegasus, the Air Force is holding a public hearing July 25 at Maconaquah High School in Bunker Hill to invite public comment. The hearing, held in the high school cafeteria located at 256 East 800 South, Bunker Hill, IN 46914, is slated from 5-8 p.m. It is the second, and more formal hearing regarding the environmental impact of locating the Air Force’s latest refueling platform.

Centennial of Aerial Refueling
On 23 June 1923, four lieutenants, Virgil Hine, Frank Seifert, Lowell H. Smith and John P. Richter at US Army Air Service Station Rockwell Field, San Diego conducted the world's first refueling. Using a surplus WWI bomber, the DeHaviland DH.4B, as a testbed, the crew passed 75 gallons of gasoline via gravity hose extending the range of their receiver to 6 hours 38 minutes.
