Grissom’s DEERS office is starting the new year off strong by offering members a faster, more streamlined option to schedule ID and DEERS appointments.

Once handled exclusively over the phone, the one-person office sought a more modern solution to serve their customers better, which led to the use of the RAPIDS scheduler. This new system allows for users to book appointments online, by anyone, from anywhere, at any time and can be accessed here, https://idco.dmdc.osd.mil/idco.

“The RAPID system is available 24/7, and people can book their appointments online starting immediately,” said Master Sgt. Ashley Stant, 434th Force Support Squadron personnel systems manager.

The benefits don’t stop there. Since RAPIDS receives DOD-level support, users can schedule appointments at locations nearest to them, rather than being limited to just Grissom.

“The best part about RAPIDS is that all of the branches use it,” Stant continued. “This means that customers can choose where they want to manage their ID cards and benefits.”

This allows Airmen, and their dependents, the ability to take care of their ID needs where and when it is most convenient to them.

Customers can search for their nearest ID card, and DEERS support office by accessing https://idco.dmdc.osd.mil/idco, then follow the below instructions:

     - Click on the Site Locator & Appointments “Continue” button

     - Enter the location to search around AND the date range and hit “Search”

     - Click the “More Info” button on the site you want to visit

     - Select the “Schedule Appointment” button in the lower-left of the screen

     - Now you can pick from the dates to book an appointment

Grissom members can call the 434th FSS customer support line for more information on the RAPID system at 765-688-3909.
