Serving as ambassadors to one of the biggest decisions in a young person’s life, Air Force recruiters help the future of the force transition into the blue.

To ensure they accomplish their mission, recruiters gathered for a total force recruiting briefing at Grissom, July 28, 2021.

“Total force recruiting consists of all air components working together to meet the mission,” said Senior Master Sgt. Michael Melendez, 434th Air Refueling Wing recruiter. “Our mission as recruiters is to inspire, engage and recruit the next generation of Airmen and Space professionals.”

The briefing was led by Brig. Gen. Lisa Craig, deputy commander of the Air Force Recruiting Service.

“General Craig’s visit had a great impact on the local Indiana recruiters,” said Melendez. “Her knowledge, vision and determination to the best recruiting force we can be was clearly displayed. The time she invested in us was truly worthwhile.”

Craig had inspiring and informative words to say to the recruiters in the briefing and her vision on how to improve the recruiting force was made clear.

“There are three top priorities that we must have as a recruiting force,” said Craig. “Taking care of force and family, driving smart operations, and total force recruiting. When we focus on these things, we can accomplish the mission.”
