GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. --

With the advent of cell phones, having the world at your fingertips is no longer just an idiom and the 434th Air Refueling Wing is also just a tap away.

The 434th ARW is part of an enterprise-wide mobile app designed to provide Airmen with streamlined access to information they need for their lives and careers.

Air Force Connect app is designed to offer Air Force organizations a way to deliver timely and relevant information to Airmen, their families and members of the local community.

“While the app isn’t new, there were questions about funding, and now those issues have been resolved,” said Douglas Hays 434th Air Refueling Wing public affairs chief. “The app is a tremendous resource on-the-go.”

Airmen may access Grissom by adding the 434th Air Refueling Wing as a “Favorite” within the Air Force Connect app. To access the Favorites portal, Airmen tap the icon at the bottom right-hand corner of the app, where they’ll be presented with a list of all available units. Once added, users can swipe left and right from the home screen to access their saved local content.

“News, information, even reference material like the Tongue and Quill can be right in the palm of the hand,” Hays said.

The Air Force Connect app and all sub-apps offer a variety of features designed to engage Airmen and reduce reliance on traditional computers to access career and other personnel resources.

While the app is still relatively new to the 434th ARW, its future growth will be determined by analyzing data usage and feedback received from users, explained Hays.

“We would love to see the app reach its full potential, and encourage people to download and test drive it themselves,” said Hays. “There are endless resources on the application to help Airmen and their families.”

The app may be down-loaded in the Apple App Store and Google Play.

For more information about the app contact the 434th ARW public affairs office at 765-688-3348.

The 434th ARW is the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command. The Reserve Citizen Airmen from the Hoosier Wing routinely deploy around the world in support of the Air Force mission.
