Grissom Airmen recognized during Annual Awards Banquet

Each year, time is set aside to recognize Grissom Airmen who embody the Air Force’s core values to the fullest extent through their actions and commitment to duty.

The 434th Air Refueling Wing annual award winners for 2018 received their awards during a ceremony and banquet held at Grissom’s base dining facility April 7.

“What a great evening,” said Col. Larry Shaw, 434th Air Refueling Wing commander. “Camaraderie is strengthened at events like this where we celebrate our strengths together!”

The 434th ARW Annual Award winners for 2018 were:

Civilian Non-Supervisor of the Year: Nicholas Woodruff, 434th Mission Support Group

Civilian Supervisor of the Year: Michael Peeper, 434th Operations Group

Recruiter of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Vincent Frasca, 434th Recruiting Services

Airman of the Year: Senior Airman Brandon Hector, 434th MSG

Non-commissioned Officer of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Kelsey St. Clair, 434th Maintenance Group

Senior Non-commissioned Officer of the Year: Master Sgt. Timothy Holmgren, 434th MSG

Company Grade Officer of the Year: Capt. Doug Norrick, 434th ARW

Field Grade Officer of the Year: Maj. Nicole Fink, 434th MXG

“I liked the relaxed setting for the event, and being able to focus on the people we recognized,” said Shaw. “So many members were deserving of awards, and that is a testament to the hard work and dedication shown by everyone here.”


The 434th ARW is the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command. The Citizen Airmen from the Hoosier Wing routinely deploy around the world in support of the Air Force mission.
