The 434th ARW is constantly looking for ways to improve and a tool from Air Force Reserve Command was recently released to do just that.

Brig. Gen. Allan Swartzmiller, Headquarters AFRC inspector general, recently sent out a survey designed to provide an overview of the bases current climate in an effort to identify deficiencies and improve any issues that might arise before the bases upcoming unit effectiveness inspection.

A UEI is a two-year long, continuous look at a wing. Over that two-year period, the functional area managers and the inspector general will be looking in the management internal control toolset to verify the 434th ARW is conducting day-to-day operations as required by Air Force instruction.

“I often say that this is the best wing in AFRC and that we do things right, however there is always room for improvement,” said Col. Larry Shaw, 434th ARW commander. “Please be honest, and take this opportunity to identify any issues that might have been overlooked.”

“We are a team, and through teamwork we have become the successful wing that we are today,” added Shaw. “Let’s continue that legacy, and use this survey to our advantage.”

The survey can be completed by clicking here.

The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. All information provided is protected in IG channels, and none of the data will be released outside of AFRC IG.

If you are civilian employee, please indicate you are a "Department of the Air Force civilian" at the appropriate question.

“Please be honest in all your answers; it'll make the results more meaningful for the wing,” said Shaw. “We value the opinions of your spouses, and we have developed questions for them - please feel free to forward home for their use.”

This survey will close at 4:30 p.m. on May 19, 2019.

“This survey is evidence of the Air Force's new inspection focus,” said Maj. Bernard Wesley, Headquarters AFRC IG executive officer. “You and other Airmen have the opportunity to convey your opinions, beliefs, and concerns to the IG in this survey. Your thoughtful, honest answers will help increase unit effectiveness, and improve the quality of life for Airmen in your unit and across the Air Force.”

The 434th ARW is the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command. The citizen Airmen from the Hoosier Wing routinely deploy around the world in support of the Air Force mission.
