    The Grissom community bid farewell to Col. Thomas Pemberton, 434th Air Refueling Wing commander, after serving nearly four decades. Pemberton retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserve in during a ceremony here May 6, 2023.

  • Colonel Pemberton completes 'fini flight'

    Col. Thom Pemberton, 434th Air Refueling Wing commander climbed from the cockpit of his KC-135 Stratotanker for the last time March 21, 2023, and was bombarded by a wall of water.

  • Nickson Takes Command of 434th SFS

    The 434th Security Forces Squadron said goodbye to their commander and welcomed a new one during a change of command ceremony here, February 4, 2023. Lt. Col. Matthew Garvelink relinquished command to Capt. Chadwick Nickson.
