GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind., -- Brooke Moser, 8, presents stuffed animals to members of the Grissom Fire Department for use when treating young accident victims. With her are Bill Ralstin, left, and Howard Lawson, right. Approximately one year ago, Brooke became a patient of Grissom first responders when they answered a call of a sledding accident. Upon arrival at the scene, she was treated for 'obvious head trauma' that consisted of a massive laceration above her left eye that continued to just behind her left ear. The EMTs immediately stabilized the girls head and neck, tried to calm her, cleaned the wound, applied a dressing to her head, and had Samaritan Med-Evac dispatched to the location. They continued prepare her to travel and kept her stable and awake until Dukes Hospital arrived to assist. Brooke's Grandmother is Harla Williams, 434th Communications Squadron.
