GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Ryan Santana, Western High School senior, is presented with the Air Force 2009 Youth of the Year award from Brig. Gen. Dean Despinoy, 434th Air Refueling Wing commander. The award is given to youth who achieve high academic marks and make significant contributions to their communities. Ryan has served as his class president all four years of high school; he is the chief editor for the school newspaper. After high school he plans on studying journalism or political science in college, and hopes to become lawyer. He is the son of Master Sgt. Alicia Bartel, 434th Aerospace Medicine Squadron.
