GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Staff Sgt. Joseph Meyer is presented a Department of the Air Force command civilian award for valor by Brig. Gen. Dean Despinoy for saving the life of a man critically injured in a collision of two tractor-trailer trucks earlier this year. According to the award signed by Lt. Gen. Charles Stenner, Air Force Reserve Command commander, Sergeant Meyer drew upon his first-aid skills learned in the Air Force to keep the man from bleeding to death.
