Employers take flight, learn about their Citizen Airmen employees

GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Sixteen employers from around the Midwest pose for a group photo in from of a Grissom KC-135R Stratotanker before taking off onboard the aircraft for a special employer orientation flight Aug. 3. Before, during and after the flight, the employers were able to learn more about what their citizen Airmen do in the Air Force Reserve. Shortly before the flight the employers were welcomed by 434th Air Refueling Wing staff and members of the Indiana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve who provided breakfast. The ESGR was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between reserve component members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment.
