2022 Annual Award Winners
434th Air Refueling Wing Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year Staff Sgt. Andrew Davenport, firefighter, 434th Civil Engineer Squadron Staff Sgt. Davenport is a large part of Grissom’s fire department being Air Force Reserve Command’s only fire house with four national and DoD accreditations. During 2021 he not only completed 544 hours of training at the Fire Academy, but he earned the academy’s top graduate honors, but the recognition doesn’t stop there. He was recently named AFRC’s Fire Fighter of the year. Davenport also revamped the fire departments upgrade training program which resulted in their certification time being cut by 50 percent. 2021 Annual Award Winners
434th Air Refueling Wing Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year Master Sgt. Angelique Hall, commanders inspection program NCOIC, 434th Air Refueling Wing Inspectors General Master Sgt. Hall is part of the best IGI team in AFRC. As a part of that team, she led the wings inspection program by overseeing multiple exercises throughout 2021. Hall also created an inspection execution brief and trained seven commanders on the five pillars of program development, resulting in quality of life improvements for 720 Airmen. When she’s not performing IGI duties, Hall is dedicated to professional development. 2021 Annual Award Winners
434th Air Refueling Wing Airman of the Year Senior Amn Kendall Ranges, non-destructive inspection journeyman, 434th Maintenance Squadron Senior Amn Ranges may have competed in the Airman category, but don’t let that distract you from the fact that this maintenance troop is a leader. During 2021 he mentored his fellow Airmen on analyzing engine oil analysis correlation samples, leading to a 100% lab certification. He also contributed to 1,700 sorties and 7,100 flight hours by evaluating 16 aircraft and ensuring they were mission capable 60 days ahead of the standard. During his time away from Grissom, Ranges is a full time student at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis where he obtained a 3.17 GPA and made the Dean’s list. He also supported the Indianapolis Veterans Association hospital by assisting the charge nurse for four months and providing COVID-19 aid to veterans. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech Sgt. Josh Weaver)

Closing up shop: Grissom bids farewell to CMSgt Richard Scully
Chief Master Sgt. Richard Scully, 434th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, maintenance superintendent receives a tail flash from Col. Arianne Mayberry, 434th Maintenance Group, commander at Grissom Air Reserve Base, IN on 6 February, 2022. Chief Scully is retiring after more than 35 years of service, all of which were spent at Grissom. Scully enlisted as open electronics, and became an avionics instrument specialist, now known as guidance and control. In 1994, he spent some time in the military personnel flight, working in customer service, before becoming a quality assurance inspector in AMXS.
