  • Published
Civic leaders from a number of communities will visit Grissom ARB today as part of the 434th Air Refueling Wing's on-going outreach program.  The civic leaders represent a number of areas include Fort Wayne, Peru, Converse, Denver and Kokomo.

During their visit to Grissom, the civic leaders will receive various briefings to acquaint them with the base, its mission, and economic impact. The highlight of the day will be a flight aboard on of the 434th ARW's KC-135R Stratotankers during an actual aerial refueling mission.

"Civic leaders are always amazed at the activities that take place at Grissom," said Lt. Col. Gary Lockard, chief of public affairs.  "Providing them with the opportunity to witness our mission first-hand provides positive benefits  for the base and its work force."
