Grissom celebrates families Published July 20, 2011 GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Airmen and their families beat the heat July 9 as the base hosted its annual family appreciation day picnic during the primary unit training assembly. From crafts to cheerleaders and horses to horsepower, unit members and their families had the opportunity to share in a variety of recreational, educational and morale building activities. Members had an opportunity spit seeds, drool over vintage automobiles, bounce in a house, bounce on a trampoline, ride a mechanical bull, ride a horse, color, be colored upon or just sit back and relax and listen to a band perform. Members of the 434th Force Support Squadron's services division, along with volunteers from both on and off base, worked to make the day special.
