Six Grissom Airmen recognized during NCO induction ceremony Published March 6, 2015 By Senior Airman Jami Lancette 434th ARW Public Affairs GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Airmen here not only tacked on an extra stripe recently, they took on greater responsibility and moved up in the chain of command. Six Airmen took part in a time honored tradition that recognized them as they took the next step in their careers becoming non-commissioned officers and senior NCO's, at Grissom Air Reserve Base, Ind., Feb. 7. "Congratulations on your promotion," said Col. Doug Schwartz, 434th Air Refueling Wing commander. "We're very excited for you and we look forward to great things in the future." The inductees included: Staff Sgt. Lance Blackwell, 434th Maintenance Squadron Staff Sgt. Brandy Brown, 434th Logistics Readiness Squadron Staff Sgt. Chase Sprunger, 434th MXS Staff Sgt. Kelsey St. Clair, 434th MXS Master Sgt. Michael Darnell, 434th LRS Master Sgt. Ane Graham, 434th ARW Each quarter, the 434th ARW holds a special ceremony to recognize those promoted to NCO and to watch as they took their oath of induction into the ranks. Grissom is home to the 434th Air Refueling Wing, the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command, as well as three Army Reserve units. Airmen, Soldiers and Marines routinely deploy from Grissom around the world in support of the Department of Defense mission and U.S. strategic objectives.
