Salmon retires after 30 years of service Published June 27, 2006 By SrA Roberto Modelo 434th ARW Public Affairs GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind -- Col. John Salmon, a resident of Kokomo, Ind., retired from the Air Force Reserve Command after 30 years of military service.At the time of his retirement, he was the Inspector General for the 434th Air Refueling Wing at Grissom ARB. In this position, he handled complaints, inquires and other morale related issues. He also was a key player in the wing's Human Resource Development Council.Prior to serving as the Inspector General, Colonel Salmon was a navigator and instructor navigator on the KC-135 Stratotanker and logged more than 5,000 flying hours. Originally a resident of Ocean Springs, Miss., he is 1972 graduate of Ocean Spring High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He later earned a MBA degree from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. In his civilian job he is a Field Examiner with the Indiana Department of Revenue. Colonel Salmon resides in Kokomo, Ind., with his wife Nancy.
