Schwartze named Airman of the Year Published Jan. 16, 2008 By Staff Sgt. Mark Orders-Woempner 434th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind., -- -- The title of 434th Airman of the Year 2007 was awarded to Senior Airman Anne Marie Schwartze, 434th Logistics Readiness Squadron. Putting Airman Schwartze at the top of the list was her service superior performance as a supply representative for the 434th LRS unit advisory council. Additionally, she volunteered to backfill for active-duty supply personnel at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., so they could deploy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. And while supporting both the mission at home and abroad is what made Airman Schwartze stand out on paper, it was her poise, charisma and military bearing that a board of first sergeants had to take into consideration as she competed against other quarterly award winners for the prestigious annual award, officials said. After all was said and done, it was Airman Schwartze who was atop the list of Grissom's stellar performer list as AOTY.
