Soldiers with the Army Reserve's 316th Psychological Operations Company recently took flight onboard a KC-135R Stratotanker from the Air Force Reserve's 434th Air Refueling Wing.

The PSYOPS solders went on an orientation flight, where they were able to witness the refueling of a C-17 Globemaster III from the 437 Airlift Wing at Joint Base Charleston, S.C.

During the flight, Maj. Scott Thomson, 316th PSYOP commander, reenlisted Staff Sgt. John Walls, a psychological operations specialist.

The 316th PSYOP is a tenant unit located at Grissom Air Reserve Base, Ind., which is home of the 434th ARW.

The KC-135 Stratotanker provides the core aerial refueling capability for the United States Air Force and has excelled in this role for more than 50 years.

The C-17 Globemaster III is the newest, most flexible cargo aircraft to enter the airlift force. The C-17 is capable of rapid strategic delivery of troops and all types of cargo to main operating bases or directly to forward bases in the deployment area.
