Despite rain, Grissom hosts Family Day picnic

  • Published
Despite rain early on, Grissom hosted its Family Day picnic her Sept. 11 to thank families for their support of base personnel.

Pulled pork sandwiches, bratwursts and hotdogs and other picnic-style food were on the menu for the event.

Families were also able to take part in several events including a car show, tug-of-war, sphere-racing, horseback rides and a watermelon-seed-spitting contest.

A special tent was set up just for kids, which included games, face painting and a bounce castle.
