  • Lennon retires after 38 years civilian, military service

    Many have called Grissom Air Reserve Base, Indiana work at some point in their careers, but for one individual for more than 38 years it has not only been his place of employment but much more. Thomas Lennon, 434th Civil Engineer Squadron, chief of construction management, started his career at Grissom in 1983 as an Air Force reservist working as an aerospace ground equipment technician with the 434th Aerospace Ground Equipment Flight where he maintained the A10 Thunderbolts.

    Feeding Airmen helps fuel the mission at Grissom, but when one ingredient has the potential to shut down operations, the 434th Force Support Squadron decided to sprinkle in some extra precautions. With more than 1,800 people traveling from 30 plus states to drill at Grissom, feeding those Airmen safely is vital – especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Updates to EPME offer flexibility for Grissom Airmen

    The Thomas N. Barnes Center for Enlisted Education is releasing a new distance learning version of the Airman Leadership School course, ALS DLC 2.0, scheduled for Nov. 30, 2020, due to the success of the Non-Commissioned Officer DLC 2.0 released in July 2020. Updates to the Enlisted Professional Military Education, or EPME, were made over the past year to provide Airmen the flexibility to grow as first-line supervisors and leaders.

  • CMSGT Marion retires after 33 years of service

    It’s not really goodbye. It’s not even a change of scenery. It’s just moving forward. Chief Master Sgt. Wes Marion, 434 th Air Refueling Wing Command Chief, is doing just that after he retired Nov. 7 after 33 years of serving in the Air Force.
