GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Arthur L. Van Houten II, right, congratulates his son, Col. Arthur L. Van Houten III, on his recent promotion to full colonel here Oct. 23. The last time the two were in uniform together was the day the father pinned lieutenant bars on his son at his commissioning ceremony. The younger Van Houten served as the 434th Maintenance Group deputy commander until his promotion.
