In order to provide relief during the COVID-19 pandemic, a Presidential Memorandum was issued on August 8, 2020 and guidance followed from Internal Revenue Service on August 28, 2020, to temporarily defer Social Security (Old Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI)) tax withholdings. Antimicrobial patent
Shane Skibba, an intern at the Tyndall AFB, Florida, Air Force Civil Engineer Center lab in 2019, applies treated paint to a cinderblock wall with a cloth, making sure to cover every crevice. The wall, in Building 1117, previously had mold growth on it. Antimicrobial paint
The Air Force is licensing patent rights to a disease-control coating additive to a private-sector company who wants to put the formula in paint and other products. The formula was invented by Dr. Jeff Owens, a senior chemist with the Air Force Civil Engineer Center. Owens developed the technology in collaboration with the Army — collaborative research and development funded by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Joint Science and Technology Office under the Chemical and Biological Defense program.
