Grissom explosive ordnance disposal team members were called to the Miami County courthouse July 14 to assist local law enforcement with a suspicious package.

The package, ducted taped to the tree, was spotted by a citizen and reported to police who cordoned off the area and called the 434th Civil Engineering Squadron EOD members for assistance.

Grissom’s EOD supports tri-state law enforcement agencies for their explosive needs.

Further information is not available as the investigation is ongoing.

The 434th ARW is the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command. Men and women from the Hoosier Wing routinely deploy around the world in support of the Air Force mission.
