Grissom holds enlisted all-call

GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. --  Dissemination of information is critical to the success of an organization, and one command chief went out of his way to ensure his Airmen were receiving just that. 

Chief Master Sgt. Rob Herman, 434th Air Refueling Wing command chief, united his Airmen for an enlisted all-call here Oct. 4,  to disseminate information and ensure the enlisted force were aware of the accomplishments made by the wing through their efforts.

"One day you may be asked what you did to make a difference in the world," said Herman as the mission briefing video played.

Herman also spoke to Grissom's enlisted Airmen, focusing on the importance of Grissom's key aerial refueling mission and enlisted force development.

"The execution of force development maximizes capabilities of all Airmen to ensure that the U.S. Air Force can provide air, space and cyberspace power in support of our nation's security," Herman said. "It makes us ready."

Herman encouraged Grissom Airmen to make investments in themselves by expanding their breadth of experience in the Air Force by preparing now. 

"When we talk about enlisted force development, the key to that is developmental education," he said. "It's about becoming an expert in your AFSC, looking for opportunities outside of where you are right now, and adapting to the future of the Air Force.

"Our goal is to prepare our reservists - whether they're traditional reservists or ART [Air Reserve technicians] to be the next chief master sergeant of the Air Force," he added.

The 434th ARW is the largest KC-135 Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command.
