Local musicians to be guest performers at AF Band concert Published March 28, 2006 Grissom Air Reserve Base, Ind -- Seven local high school musicians will be guest performers with the Air Force Band of Flight during a special concert at the Kokomo High School auditorium on Tuesday, April 11 at 7:00 p.m. The Band of Flight is from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and the appearance in Kokomo will be the group’s only performance in the local area this year. The guest musicians include: Andrew Townsend, Tri-Central High School on trombone Andrew Linstrom, Taylor High School on Tuba Joseph Fellow, Western High School on French horn Michael Hill, Kokomo High School on alto saxophone Anna Naegeli, Northwestern High School on flute Kelly Snyder, Maconaquah High School on trumpet Kip McClain, Eastern High School on Alto saxophone The Band of Flight has a varied repertoire ranging from classical symphonic compositions and military marches to Broadway show tunes and popular contemporary music. Appearances by the band have ranged from the Kentucky Derby parade, the Indianapolis 500 parade and the Professional Football Hall of Fame festival parade to annual appearances at the Montreux Detroit Jazz Festival.
