Grissom's Combined Federal Campaign is half way complete, and the men and women of the 434th Air Reserve Wing are digging deep to help those in need.

The Indiana region for the Combined Federal Campaign which includes Grissom, is currently at 68 percent of its $25,000 goal for 2006. The drive ends Dec. 11.

The theme for this years CFC drive is, "Be an everyday hero." This annual fund raising event is for approximately 20,000 federal employees located in a 60 county area across Indiana.

The CFC was created in 1961 and is the military version of the United Way drive. The CFC is governed by the office of personnel management and the local federal coordinating committee.

"It continues to be the largest and most successful workplace fundraising model in the world," said Nancy Briner, the CFC coordinator for Grissom.

Federal employees and military personnel can make contributions by cash, check or payroll deduction, and contributions are tax deductible.

Individuals can choose from nearly 2,100 different organizations they can give to. Donors will receive recognition gifts for their contributions.

Those interested in making a contribution can contact key staff workers in their organizations, or may stop by the civilian personnel office located in room 201 of Bldg 596.
