DeAngulo receives Indiana Military Achievement Award Published Dec. 14, 2006 GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind -- Senior Master Sgt. Dan R. DeAngulo of Greentown, Ind., was recently honored with the prestigious 2006 Indiana Military Achievement Award. Sergeant DeAngulo is the superintendent of the Military Personnel Flight for the 434th Air Refueling Wing at Grissom ARB and has more than 27 years of service to his country. The Indiana Military Achievement Award is sponsored by the Raytheon Technical Services Company and is bestowed upon enlisted Indiana National Guard and Reserve personnel who have been judged outstanding by their respective organizations. Selection is based on a number of criteria including military performance during the past year, attendance at required and optional functions, judgment, reliability, leadership, appearance, attitude and preparation for advancement. State-wide, among all of the Air Force, Army, Marine, Navy and Coast Guard reserve component units, there were only 18 Military Achievement Awards presented. The award recipients, including Sergeant DeAngulo, were honored at a special banquet at the Adam's Mark Hotel Ballroom in Indianapolis. At the awards banquet, Sergeant DeAngulo was accompanied by his wife, Jeanne, and father, Daniel A. DeAngulo. As the superintendent of the Military Personnel Flight, Sergeant DeAngulo plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of a variety of areas including personnel employment, career enhancement, education and training, personnel readiness, customer service, personnel relocation, deployment processing, and career advisor. Sergeant DeAngulo began his career in the Air Force in 1979 and served as a jet engine mechanic until 1994 when he became a logistics planner. He served in this capacity until 2004 when he cross-trained into the personnel career field.
