Grissom personnel raise $25,000 for CFC Published Dec. 18, 2006 GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind -- Grissom personnel play an important role in our nation's defense and recently dug deep into their pockets to also be a vital part of local area charities. The base's Combined Federal Campaign ended a few days ago with $25,000 being contributed. The theme for this year's CFC drive was, "Be an everyday hero." This marked the second year in a row that Grissom employees topped the $25,000 mark in contributions. "I am so glad to have met our goal," said Ms Nancy Briner, a member of the Civilian Personnel Office who also served as the CFC coordinator for Grissom. The CFC was created in 1961 and is the military version of the United Way. The CFC is governed by the Office of Personnel Management and the local federal coordinating committee. Base employees made contributions via cash donations, check and payroll deductions. "I want to thank everyone for participating," added Ms Briner. "We did a 100 percent contact with base employees to ensure that everyone had the opportunity to participate." In addition to Ms Briner, other individuals at Grissom aided the campaign by serving as key workers. They included Mr. Pat Bernotas and Mr. Jeff Woodring; Chief Master Sgt. Diana Rogers; Senior Master Sgts. Dan DeAngulo and Brad Klepinger; Master Sgt. Tina Youker; Tech. Sgts. Bill Garman and Brett Lewis; Staff Sgts. David Stanley and Dennis Ball; Senior Airman Misty McKinney; Lt. Col. Chuck Good; Capt. Debra Edgerley; Gunnery Sgt. Jeffrey Inman; and Sgt. Brian Bell. Additional support was provided by Mr. Mike Sampson, Ms Lana Moyer and Mr. Mike Schultz.
