Somers is promoted to Chief Master Sgt

Air Force Reservist William L. Somers of Logansport, Ind., was recently promoted to the rank of chief master sergeant.

He is the son of Mary Somers, also of Logansport.

Chief Master Sgt. Somers is the superintendent of services for the 434th Air Refueling Wing. He has been a member of the Air Force Reserve for more than 14 years and has a total of 20 years of military service.

In his current position, he manages military operation of the 434th Services Flight including deployments, food services, recreation, lodging and mortuary affairs.

The 434th Air Refueling Wing is the largest KC-135R unit in the Air Force Reserve Command and its people and aircraft routinely deploy around the world to support various Air force missions.

In his civilian occupation, he is the director of marketing and recreation for the Services Division at Grissom ARB
