McMillan is promoted

Air Force Reservist Jeremy R. McMillan of Marion, Ind., was recently promoted to the rank of staff sergeant.

He is the son of John J. McMillan and Janice E. McMillan, both of Marion, Ind.

Staff Sgt. McMillan is a guidance and control specialist with the 434th Air Refueling Wing and has a total of five years of military service.

He plays a vital role in repairing guidance and control systems on the 434th ARW's fleet of KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft. Systems include engine and flight surface instruments, cockpit flight recorders and auto pilot systems.

Additionally, Sergeant McMillan serves as a member of the Grissom Air Reserve Base Advisory Council.

The 434th ARW is the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command and its aircraft and personnel routinely deploy around the world in support of various Air Force missions.

In his civilian occupation, Sergeant McMillan is an employee of Bright House Networks in Marion.
