GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind., -- Joe Finnerty, an air traffic control and landing systems technician, adjusts an instrument landing transmitter at Grissom Air Reserve Base. The system provides runway center line and glide path data to landing aircraft. This information is received by the aircraft and is displayed as a visual indication enabling the pilot to maintain the proper runway centerline and glide path until visual contact is made with the runway.
