Grissom Marine promoted, selected for OCS Published April 28, 2007 GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind -- Marine Corps Reservist James M. Hale of Muncie, Ind., was recently promoted to the rank of Corporal. He is the son of James G. Hale and Diana S. Hale, also of Muncie. Corporal Hale is a field radio operator with Detachment 1 Communication Company at Grissom ARB. In this capacity, he is responsible for establishing radio, wire and data communications between Marine Corps units, maintaining various pieces of equipment, and trouble shooting any problems that may arise. A five-year veteran of the Marine Corps, Corporal Hale has also been selected to attend Marine Corps Office Candidate School. Upon his scheduled graduation, he would receive his commission as a second lieutenant. In his civilian occupation, Corporal Hale is an employee of Underwater Service in Muncie. He is also a student at Ball State University, majoring in criminal justice and criminology. Grissom Air Reserve Base is home to units of the Air Force Reserve Command, Marine Corps Reserve, and Army Reserve.
