Indianapolis resident promoted to staff sergeant

Air Force Reservist Nadine R. Ward of Indianapolis was recently promoted to the rank of staff sergeant. 

She is the daughter of Ingrid Hedman of Bronx, N.Y., and the sister of Lisa Brown of Indianapolis. 

Sergeant Ward is a military pay technician with the 434th Air Refueling Wing and has a total of eight years of military service. 

She plays a vital role in processing newly assigned Airmen to Grissom and ensures that they will be paid correctly. Additionally she ensures that administrative actions are complete for those deploying both overseas and within the continental United States. 

The 434th Air Refueling Wing is the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command. Personnel and aircraft from the wing routinely deploy around the world in support of various Air Force missions. 

In her civilian occupation, Sergeant Ward is an employee with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service in Indianapolis.
