USAF Marathon looking for volunteers Published June 30, 2008 WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio, -- The annual United States Air Force Marathon will be held at Wright-Patterson AFB on September 20. Events include the marathon, wheelchair marathon, half marathon, individual 10K, and team 10K. The USAF Marathon is always held in September to commemorate the founding of the Air Force as a separate military service on September 18, 1947.
