Maintenance tour on tap for Community Council

GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind., --  Members of the Grissom Community Council will receive a special "behind the scenes" look at the inner workings of aircraft maintenance during a base visit today.

The event is hosted by the 434th Maintenance Group and will provide GCC members with a look at the inner workings of aircraft maintenance. Areas on display will include structural repair (sheet metal working and painting), Non-Destructive Inspection (finding cracks using both high and low-tech equipment) and fuel cell maintenance.

The activities start at 2:30 p.m. in the 2nd floor conference room in the Services Complex. The GCC members will then go to an aircraft hangar for an interactive tour before heading back to the Services Complex for dinner consisting of "Meals Ready to Eat."
