Schedule of events for Retiree Appreciation Day is finalized

The schedule of events and activities for the 2nd Annual Military Retiree Appreciation Day at Grissom has been finalized according to Air Force officials at the base. 

The special event is taking place on Friday, August 22, and includes a variety of social and educational activities. 

"Many different organizations have banded together to ensure a first class day for our military retirees," stated Lt. Col. Gary Lockard, chief of public affairs. "I am confident those who attend will be pleased with the line-up we have prepared." 

The expanded Information Fair opens its doors at 10 a.m. and will feature more than 20 agencies that provide services and information to military retirees. Scheduled participants include Tricare, Delta Dental, Air Force Association, Navy Club of Lafayette, Marine Corps League, Grissom Community Council, Miami and Cass County Veterans Service Officers, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, Grissom Air Museum, National Military Family Association, Small Business Administration, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. 

Grissom agencies participating in the Information Fair include Pass & ID, Services Flight, Legal Office, Base Operations, Retiree Information Office and the Military Personnel Flight. 

A complimentary picnic style lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
