Flyover at Purdue

The boom of a KC-135R Stratotanker is visible from the boom operator's point of view as a tanker from the 434th Air Refueling Wing at Grissom ARB conducts a flyover of the football stadium at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind. The Pentagon-approved flyover was conducted as part of the opening ceremonies as Purdue hosted Michigan. The KC-135 aircrew included pilots Lt. Cols. Doug Gullion and Brian Nance, and boom operator  Chief Master Sgt. Jeff Henry. The two ground coordinators were Lt. Col.  E.J. Dieringer and Master Sgt. Kerry Vanausdall. 

The 434th ARW is one of the key units in the Air Force Reserve Command.
