Nine awarded Meritorious Service Medal

Nine members of the 434th Air Refueling Wing at Grissom were recently awarded the Merirorious Service Medal.  The individuals were:

- Lt. Col. Erik Thorell, 72nd Air Refueling Squadron
- Lt. Col. Arthur L. VanHouten III, 434th Maintenance Group
- Lt. Col. Craig Wisler, 434th AMDS
- Maj. Michael Schaefer, 49th Aerial Port Flight
- Capt. Timothy Kerrigan, 434th Logistics Readiness Squadron
- Senior Master Sgt. Dana Beavers, 434th Communications Squadron
- Master Sgt. Melissa Binns, 434th Mission Support Flight
- Master Sgt. William Garman, 434th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron
- Master Sgt. Scott Ward, 72nd ARS

Grissom ARB is one of five Air Force Reserve Command bases in the nation and is home to the 434th Air Refueling Wing and its fleet of KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft. Personnel and aircraft from Grissom routinely deploy around the world in support of the Air Force's aerial refueling mission
