Guardsmen train at Grissom Published Aug. 24, 2011 GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- Indiana Army National Guard members from Camp Atterbury travelled to Grissom recently to take advantage of training opportunities here. The group, all firefighters, came to sharpen skills in battling aircraft accidents and incidents. During the training the group addressed an simulated aircraft fire by using the fire training pit near base operations. Grissom is often used as a training location for a variety of career fields who take advantage of the opportunities the base has to offer.
