Heroes of the Air Force Reserve,

Before we start the new year, I ask that you pause for a moment and focus on your personal resiliency and that of your family.

In this unpredictable world, there will always be situations that seem out of your control, such as combat stressors, natural disasters, and personal life circumstances. We cannot prevent these events, but there are many resources available to help you and your family work through life’s challenges.

If you or a member of your family is struggling, I encourage you to reach out to one of the many resources available, such as the Chaplain, the Director of Psychological Health, Airman and Family Readiness, the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator, the Violence Prevention Integrator, the Military Family Life Consultant, Civilian Employee Assistance Program, your designated Key Spouse, or Military One Source.

The Air Force Reserve Command’s Airmen and Family Readiness site contains a wealth of information on resiliency, including links to program websites and base specific contacts. I recommend everyone bookmark this site, as it is also a valuable reference for those who need to help a fellow Airmen.

To underscore the importance of personal resiliency, I’ve recorded a video message for all Reserve Citizen Airmen. Please click here to watch it… and #like it, so I can increase my online status. (#mykidsthinkI’mnotcool)

Thank you for your commitment and dedication over the past year. I appreciate all your efforts to increase our command’s mission readiness. Because of you, the Air Force Reserve is a stronger and more agile force.

I look forward to seeing the great things you will accomplish in 2019.

My Best,

RICHARD W. SCOBEE
