With every morning the start of a new beginning arrives, and with Grissom going through several changes the 434th Air Refueling Wing chaplain shared his thoughts during prayer with the wing.

“Being successful in the midst of change is adapting or having the ability to endure change,” said Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Obadiah Smith, Jr., 434th ARW chaplain, during a recent service. “There are three stages individuals go through when confronted with change: We either resist change; tolerate change or embrace change."

As a religious leader of the military, Smith is responsible for tending to the religious and moral well-being of service members and their families.

“When embracing change while engaging God we understand: God is a God of radical change, growth is only possible with change and choosing the core value of integrity with God in the midst of change leads to stability,” he added. “Don’t be afraid of change because, the grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God shall stand forever.”
