This year was no different as the 434th Air Refueling Wing leadership recently announced its semiannual award winners for the January through June 2014 timeframe. Listed below are the first half of 2014 winners. Airman category: Senior Airman Aaron Wilson, 434th Aerospace Medicine Squadron biomedical equipment maintenance specialist Noncommissioned officer category: Staff Sgt. Jessie Vanouse, 434th Security Forces Squadron fire team member Senior NCO category: Master Sgt. Jonna Sullivan, 74th Air Refueling Squadron aviation resource management technician Company grade officer category: 1st Lt. Dustin Schimp, 434th Communications Squadron director of operations Civilian category: Robert Moore, 434th Operations Support Squadron Airfield operations manager Chief Master Sgt. Karen Perkins, 434th ARW command chief, said Grissom's awards program is important because it recognizes and rewards 434th ARW Airmen for their contributions to both the Air Force and their communities. Nominees are evaluated on a host of items based on their level of responsibility, but common to all is how they impact Grissom, the Air Force and their communities. The 434th ARW is the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command.
