Marching bands, and clowns, and lions, and mayors and military leaders - strike up the parade!

Col. Doug Schwartz, 434th Air Refueling Wing commander helped celebrate Peru Indiana's 56th Circus Parade July 18 by riding in a convertible and waving to the crowd.

"Grissom Air Reserve Base is a vital part of this community," Schwartz said, "It's important that we reflect those Midwestern values and I was honored to represent the men and women of Grissom in the parade."

The parade marched right down Main Street before turning onto Broadway and finishing on Canal Street. People lined the route to join in the celebration.

Grissom is home to the 434th ARW, the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command.
