Schneider completes aircraft commander upgrade course Published May 30, 2007 GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind -- First Lt. William R. Schneider of Hebron, Ky., completed the aircraft commander upgrade course for the KC-135R Stratotanker at Altus, AFB, Okla., recently. He is the son of William L. Schneider of Morning View, Ky. Lieutenant Schneider is a KC-135R Stratotanker pilot with the 72nd Air Refueling Squadron. In this capacity he flies both operational and training aerial refueling missions providing air-to-air refueling to a variety of Air Force, Navy and NATO aircraft. He is a 1993 graduate of Fairborn High School in Fairborn, Ohio, and a 1998 graduate of Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. The 72nd ARS is a component of the 434th ARW -- the largest KC-135R Stratotanker unit in the Air Force Reserve Command. Personnel and aircraft from the wing routinely deploy around the world in support of various Air Force missions. When not serving at Grissom, Lieutenant Schneider is an electrical engineer with Wendel-Schneider LLC in Cincinnati.
