Touring the E-4B

  • Published
Brig. Gen. Dean Despinoy, 434th Air Refueling Wing Commander, and Col. Martin Doebel, National Airborne Operations Center Commander, exit the E-4B after the general's tour of the NAOC.  The E-4B serves as the National Airborne Operations Center for the president, secretary of defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff or JCS. In case of national emergency or destruction of ground command control centers, the aircraft provides a highly survivable, command, control and communications center to direct U.S. forces, execute emergency war orders and coordinate actions by civil authorities. The E-4B visited Grissom Air Reserve Base recently. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Ben Mota)
