  • Published
The silhouette of a KC-135R Stratotanker and B-52 bomber are visible during a late-evening aerial refueling mission. The KC-135R is from the 434th Air Refueling Wing at Grissom Air Reserve Base, Ind.  The KC-135 is the Air Force's primary aerial refueler and provides mid-air refueling to fighter, bomber and cargo aircraft. Highly trained aircrews are able to complete their mission day or night.
